Tess Adamonis is a sophomore English Writing major. She enjoys reading, writing, spending time with her friends, listening to music, and watching marathons of TV shows on Netflix. Tess is from Homewood, IL and went to school at Homewood Flossmoor High School. She has been involved in athletics for years including swimming and water polo. Tess doesn’t have plans for later on in life just yet but she hopes to work with books in any way possible. At college, she is a member of the Decaturian staff along with the Millikin University swim team and Alpha Chi Omega. |

Elizabeth Buzard will be graduating this semester with a double major in Creative Writing and English Literature and a minor in French. After graduation, Elizabeth intends to travel the world and become a best-selling author of young adult fantasy novels. However until she makes that happen, she plans to return to her hometown of Geneseo, Illinois to find a "real job." When not in class or at one of her three campus jobs, Elizabeth enjoys teaching herself to play the ukulele, getting writing and life advice from her "blue monkeys," and watching far too much British television on Netflix. |

Emily Chudzik is a freshman English Writing major at Millikin University. She is a staff writer for her school’s newspaper, The Decaturian, and thoroughly enjoys it. Emily plays the clarinet in the Concert Band and Wind Ensemble at Millikin. She is also a member of Millikin’s Best Buddies chapter. She truly loves participating in it and planning events for the special needs members. In her free time, she likes to read, write short stories, and spend time with her wonderful friends and family. Emily has only experienced one semester of college so far, but she has already learned so much. She can’t wait to see where the next three years take her in life! |

Emily Crutchfield is currently a sophomore history major studying at Millikin University. She has a passion for reading and traveling. When she is not busy with her schoolwork, she enjoys spending time with her sorority sisters and her family. Emily calls Morton, Illinois home and loves going back for the local Pumpkin Festival every year. Her plans for the future include attending graduate school somewhere up north or along the east coast and she hopes to eventually become a history professor at a university. |

Morgan Ewald majors in English-Writing, while in her third year at Millikin. Many an hour is spent in The Decaturian office, where she helms the ship. She has served as Editor-in-Chief for a semester and plans to finish out her term within the next year. When a mountain of papers doesn’t bury her, Morgan likes to volunteer at the local animal shelter and play with cats. Morgan is an active member of Alpha Chi Omega and loves spending time with her sisters. Professionally she has interned at a local newspaper near her hometown of Mount Carmel, Illinois and is currently working on a novel. Outside of writing, she likes to read, paint, play board games, and her vintage Nintendo 64. |

Jacob Hall is a student at Millikin University. He is currently studying English Literature and Creative Writing. Jacob’s primary goals include studying American satire in literature in great depth, along with learning the various approaches to creative writing that embrace satire as a platform for social criticism. Emma Hoyer is a freshman Elementary Education and English Literature major at Millikin University. She is originally from the Champaign-Urbana area, where she attended Uni High for her high school education. Currently, in her spare time, she enjoys participating on Millikin’s basketball team, drinking hot chocolate, hanging out with friends, and writing various things, sometimes required for a class. In addition to all that, Emma particularly enjoys curling up with a good book, or writing some poetry, free-verse. |

Yu Ju Huang is currently studying in Millikin University as an international exchange student for one semester. She is majoring in English Literature and International Business at Tunghai University, Taiwan. For the last year of her school, she decided to apply for the exchange program to study abroad because of her dream to travel and experience different cultures all around the world. She believes that every adventure and encounter is an inspiration for writing and entrepreneurship: to let the seed sprout and grow. |

Kyli Humm is a Secondary English Education major and also a Spanish major. She is pursuing the dream of teaching in a high school, while coaching multiple sports. Kyli is a native of Crystal Lake, Illinois. She has two sisters who are also both in college and who keep her on her toes everyday. Kyli enjoys long walks in the park with her black lab named Cody, who seems to be the Energizer Bunny reincarnated. While Kyli is attending Millikin University, she participates in almost everything, as she loves to be busy and help others. She is a member of the women's soccer team, student senate, residence life, and the sports editor of the school newspaper. While being a member of these organizations, Kyli also is the president of the senior class, the Illinois Education Association-MU chapter, and the Student Athlete Advisory Council. While she enjoys being busy, she fits in her love for Marvel as much as she can by going to all the midnight releases of Marvel films and by watching the films while doing homework, grading, and crafting. |

Kirstyn Kedaitis is a senior secondary English education major with a French minor from the Chicago suburbs. She has a particular penchant for ugly sweaters, hair bows, scarves, and flannel. Her hobbies include cuddling, writing, and silently judging people who misuse apostrophes, commas, and homophones. After graduation, Kirstyn plans on getting an ESL certification and going to graduate school for creative writing, with relocating to Europe thrown in there at some point. When she’s not busy lamenting the troubles of the world, she participates in Pi Beta Phi, French Club, English Club/Sigma Tau Delta, and Order of Omega. Samantha Keller is a Junior History major at Millikin University. She is 26 years old and really loves the color yellow. Samantha originally came to Millikin in the autumn of 2006 but after completing two years decided to take a break and get married, hooray! She is now the proud mother of two beautiful little girls, ages 4 and 3. Samantha spends most of her free time being obsessed with Doctor Who and reading books. Some of her favorite books include : the Harry Potter series, anything by John Green, mystery/suspense novels (i.e. John Grisham), and lots of sci-fi and fantasy. After graduation, Samantha plans to continue her education at the University of Illinois and achieve a Masters in Library Science. Alexandra López Vera grew up in the south of Spain where she lived until she finished her first degree in Elementary Education in 2012. Now, she is a sophomore Secondary English Education major who studies in Millikin University and is planning to study in England next year. Alexandra dreams of finishing her second degree and completing one Masterīs degree in order to start researching on linguistics, which is her passion, and (eventually) work as college professor. When she is not studying, you could find her practicing cycling, which is her favorite sport. |

Brittany Mytnik is a junior at Millikin University who is majoring in English writing (with a professional concentration) and English literature. She is involved in many organizations on campus, serving as the vice president of Sigma Tau Delta English honors fraternity, editor for Sigma Alpha Iota, design editor for Collage Literary and Fine Arts Magazine, editor for Bronze Man Books, public relations chair for the Student Honors Advisory Council, as well as coordinator and editor for the Millikin's Premier Writers Program. The first Millikin's Premier Writers (MPW) anthology of first-year student essays will be published in 2014 through Bronze Man Books. Veronica Powell Hughes is a 22-year-old Millikin University Senior. She is an ESL Elementary Education major with Music minor. When she graduates from college, she would like to teach for five years and then pursue a master’s degree in educational polices and leadership. Jovonne Roberson is currently a junior elementary education major. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, but moved to Memphis, Tennessee with her mother and brothers at the age of one year old. However, in September 2005, she and her mother moved back to Chicago where she completed her middle and high school education. Jovonne will graduate from MU in December 2015, and she hopes to move to and teach in Nashville, Tennessee soon after. She loves reading, writing, listening to music, and taking care of her four-year-old son. |
