When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts (2006)

This TV mini–series turned documentary examines the greatest disaster happened during Hurricane Katrina: the incompetence of the government. While still discussing the natural disaster, the documentary looks at how badly the poor and underprivileged people of New Orleans were mistreated by the United States government.

Frontline: The Old Man and the Storm (2009)

82–year–old Herbert Gettridge has been working on rebuilding his home since the levees broke in 2005. In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, this documentary follows the Gettridge family as they rebuild their lives in New Orleans.

Trouble the Water (2008)

The documentary follows Kimberly Roberts and her husband, Scott, as they document their experience with Hurricane Katrina beginning to end. The film highlights their town as it is destroyed in the flood and the lack of government help that is provided as they try to rebuild their lives.
